bjc community benefit report 2017

Community Health Programs

To foster individual health and to help communities thrive, BJC and its hospitals reach out into the community every year with programs that bring health resources and education to neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, community events and places of worship.

Outreach efforts range from free flu shots and health screenings to dedicated school nurses and even a flourishing garden on a city street corner.

During 2017, BJC organizations contributed $16.4 million in community health and wellness programs throughout metropolitan St. Louis, mid-Missouri and southern Illinois. These programs provided more than 687,000 individual services to children, adults and seniors.
